Seattle Trip - June 2009

Back in June, I flew out to Seattle to visit my friend Anna for a few days. One of the activities I really wanted to do was go on a hike while I was out there. Jokingly, I told her that I wanted to hike up to snow, but really I just wanted to hike up into the mountains and see the great view. So, her and Dan (her hubby) asked some friends where there was a good day hike that we could go on. We ended up at this Mt. Baker trail which turned out to be completely amazing.

Me and a pile of moss. It's everywhere!
Here's me and our first encounter with snow on the trail.
At the summit, we reached a small lake created from the run-off from the mountains. It was amazing. I only thought weird weather occurred in Michigan, but apparently in Seattle it can be mid-June, cold, snow on the ground, and mosquitoes biting at the same time.

Here are some more highlights from our day hike:
Anna strangling me because my idea of fun is hiking up a mountain for 4 hours.
trying to see if I can get a signal up here. I wanted to check my twitter account. :)

After recovering from our hike, we spent the next couple of days doing typical Seattle touristy stuff. We went to Pike's Place, the original Starbucks, the aquarium, and Boeing.
